Clement Give Green Lamp To Swansea Playmaker Leave To Everton?
Gylfi Sigurdsson will soon move to Everton and confirmed that in the next two or three days the transfer process will be realized, according to Swansea City coach Paul Clement.
Sigurdsson is not listed as a player who was brought in pre-season action against Birmingham City this weekend. Earlier team captain Leon Britton confirmed that he already believes his Icelandic counterpart was costumed The Toffees soon.
Negotiations were soon completed
Swansea reportedly set the price of Sigurdsson for 50 million pounds. The playmaker last season scored nine goals in the Premier League, and helped the Swans avoid a drop of relegation.
But Clement indicated there had been progress on negotiations with Everton. The deal is expected to happen before this weekend.
“The talk is still ongoing and hopefully we will get good news in the next few days,” Clement said.
“The deal should be the best for both parties involved, we have a very, very important season in sight. We know what happened last season if you do not make a good start and we do not want that to happen again. ”
“We want to make a great start and everybody wants to be aware of what the squad will offer in the inaugural game of the season.”
Clement prepares new recruits
Ashley Williams became a player who ran away from Swansea a week before last season started and joined Everton. Something that then very impacted with the performance of the team who won only one victory in 12 games in the league.
The Toffees, who are still working on negotiations, made Clement want the deal to happen soon. So as not to disrupt the preparation of the team that he had planned.
“Assuming that the right players will come to us and this is someone we really care about and can fill the needs of our squad, the deal will have potential,” Clement said.
“I hope it will finish today, the next day, whether it is sold or not, but we are a quick resolution for the current situation.” (Source: Mirror)
